MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1500 Samco hose fitting
just got round to fitting my new samco hoses to my 1500 and there seems to be an extra hose the two i have left are very similar one slightly longer but the only place i have left to fit one is the inlet manifold to the side of the thermostat .has anyone any ideas where the other one goes, hose have a number moulded in them 3271 and 3454 |

Are you missing your heater tap? That would reduce the hose count needed by 1 and it's a similar shape to your description. Is the kit export and home market in one box? Export had a few different hose combinations that may account for one left over. Photos might help a lot. |

Looking at the Samco set, it says it comes with 8 hoses. Then lists the part numbers of the OE versions it replaces. Sadly not the new part numbers. Regardless, if you got 8 hoses and aren't using them all, then something is missing from your heating system circuit. http://www.mgexp.com/phile/3/65139/SPMLS019A-C.gif That's the circuit. What it doesn't show is the large bore radiator to block pipes and the small 5/16 pipe to the expansion tank. Out of the other 5, those 2 pipes look most like 67 (the pipe you have left to fit) and 86, heater to return circuit. Did you get 9 hoses? |

got a reply today from samco the extra hose is for the expansion tank a bit short but allread had a samco pipe on that. TB-3271 = Inlet manifold hose replacing (GZA 2052Z) TB-3454 = Expansion Tank ~ Radiator. |

Rather odd they would provide a shaped peice instead of some generic 5/16 straight length. Oh well. Mystery solved! |
