MG Midget and Sprite Technical - aaargh windows

I think there was a recent thread by Malcolm about the job from hell which is working on the doors...

Ive been trying to sort out that the windows go up and down on my red car, and having stripped and rebuild the doors twice, am no better off. Then i read on a diagram in the Haynes manual that there should be a bracket at the bottom of the quarterlight frame to position it correctly and make sure the two runners are parallel.

I dont have this important bit of metal, and cant see it in the MOSS catalogue.

Does anyone have any information on this ?

OK, think ive found it.
Confusing picture in the Moss catalogue, but found better one on Spridgetguru.com.

would be good news except its listed as Not available.

Its only an angle bracket and well withing my capabilities to make if i knew the dimensions....

Can anyone help ?

Thanks
Andy

Andy,
sorry I can't help with that, I don't recognize it or remember seeing it but perhaps this video might help with when you do more with the door.

I can't remember why I saved the link and it's not a particularly good video but I'm sure it'll come back to me when I tackle my windows and quarterlights.

Andy I can post one out to you; you actually need both parts 135 and 136. They do seem to go missing - I recently provided one for a chap who had managed to lose one during a resto and was really stuck as he also found they were NLA new.

Yeah, probably me. I hate doors! :-)

After a few days with your hands slashed to bits, you will finally get it all sorted!

Just reading this properly now.

The captive nut bit is easy enough to make (I am pretty sure I did at least one...)

The other bit, as you say, is just a right angle bracket. Might have one in the shed if you want measurements?

Malc.

The hole in one arm of the L shaped bracket is elongated to give the scope for adjustment
