MG Midget and Sprite Technical - anti rattle kitll
Hi Guys(and Gals) Not contributed lately but I prefere to read what "the experts" have to say. Now the question is:I was told I required an anti rattle kit to quieten my lever.I duely contacted the owners club who sent me the kit,a spring,a nylon bit,a rubber grommet and a gasket.I took the carpet out, removed the lever surround and located the 3 bolts holding the lever in.I removed the bolts, plate and lever.Sadly I cannot find none of the above items.I think I know where they go but in what order. Also what is the gasket for. Useful replies appertaining to these questions only please. |

The spring and the plastic seat go under the lower ball of the gear lever. There should be an o-ring that fits into the groove in the lower ball. There should also be a small brass plunger with a spring which fits into a hole in the side of the remote and presses against the side of the large ball on the lever. I'm not sure about the gasket. What shape is it? |

If you look at the Moss catalogue http://tinyurl.com/q8w5m98 parts 141-143 may be the bits you're talking about? |

The brass plunger and spring are nos 108 & 109. The whole kit ( 5 pieces) is top right - no 137 |
