MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Armstrong lever damper oil
Just wondering what oil do you use to top up the oil in the lever dampers
D Stratton
The official workshop manual says: "The use of Armstrong Super (Thin) Damoer oil is recommended. When this is not available any good quality mineral oil to Specification SAE 20/20W is acceptable. This alternative is not suitable for low temperature operation."

I ordered damper oil from Moss Motors (as I recall), and a small bottle has lasted for years. But apparently motorcycle fork oil is comparable. -:G:-
Gryf Ketcherside
Motorcycle fork oil, comes in different viscosities. Available from any motor cycle shop and Halfrauds Mike
Mike J Pearson
20W bike fork oil is fine
Keith Davies
And keep in mind that the oil viscosity isn't what regulates the damping rates... it's the valve through which the oil passes. "Uprated" dampers have heavier valve springs, not heavier oil. -:G:-

Would you use synthetic , semi synthetic or mineral oil ?
D Stratton
can you get a choice? http://www.ukmgparts.com/product.aspx?CID=fa7d90fa-a5e3-4200-8ef2-bfe88a81db74&SID=0818263e-7f08-4bbe-baeb-8c20932dd39d&PID=390696dc-793f-4179-9c8d-d0b7e3323b70
