Since I am not real familiar with the A series, but based on the same oil pressure thread in the B series engine I would guess that it is a British Standard Pipe Parallel thread - probably 1/4 BSPP. Cheers - Dave

My local engineers suppliers would be able to sort that out from the existing part if it was taken to them as would the local engineering company.
Got anyone local?
I think the mention of the adapter was in an answer to one of my queries about oil loss or HGF recently (about 3 weeks ago or thereabouts) but I can't remember which. I was asking about oil pressure and increasing oil loss as a sub section of either an oil loss query or a HGF query and everyone was saying get an oil pressure gauge fitted to my 1500. Pretty sure type and size of thread was not mentioned as long term I want to fit a gauge and would remember if it was but I do know the person who mentioned it would likely know.
Greg at Sussex Classic Car Parts would more than likely know of course and maybe have the parts as I think the MGB bits fit but don't quote me as not sure.
As Prop says we are all a bit remise when posting titles and keeping queries on subject on here (that's not a criticism of you lot by the way, I think this BBS is great, and that's the people in it that make it so) so the archive is not a good place to go if you want to find the answer anytime soon and your search skills are as good as mine or Props.

many thanks all. I looked up a few old threads with no definite answer. I have asked a few people in the know and it seems that the answer is probably npt!!! rgds tony

Tony,
did you see the thread in the Archive called ‘1500 Oil Pressure Flex Line’

I also think John Twist might have covered this in one of his videos but can’t remember for sure but it’s worth a look perhaps
