MG Midget and Sprite Technical - brake disc bolt PCD

Anyone know the PCD of the bolt holes for the std brake disk (where it bolts to the back of the hub....)

i need to get spacers made,(for well documented bearing issue) but forgot to measure the PCD.
if i have to drive home to measure it its another day lost......

One thought Andy - do you know that the two mating faces between the disk and the hub don't have any spigots or what ever between them? That would need to be taken into account when you design the spacer.

Hi Graeme,
yes, ive split the hub and the disk, there is a spigot, its quite deep (about 7mm) so i'm not worried about the ' spigot land' not being enough, and taken into account the diameter also...

thanks David..

Andy,
We are manufacturing our own spacers at the moment and are having sets of shims made. the difference will be the face dimension each end of the spacer as we use taper rollers. Just a thought as it might save some money if they are compatable.
Dims are down at engineering at the moment but can let you know them when the batch is collected. I'm having 50 made and 100 shim kits.

Hi Johnathon,
ive got a regular supplier that does other parts for my business just up the road... ill get them done within a few days and at trade prices......

I'm still thinking about your big brake conversions, but moved them down my list of priorities whilst i give the greenstuff pads a try, thats why i'm trying to re-use my old hubs rather than going to nice new alloy ones...

Top prioirity is a roof.. of any sort... as the rainy season is approaching.
Andy Phillips

No probs Andy, just a thought.

JL: I think the Rest of the World will be interested as I'm fairly convinced that the "correct" bearings are now very few and far between. For those who don't want to go tapered, a suitable spacer for spindle and brake disk may well be welcome.
