MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Camshaft identification

A while ago I bought 2 A series camshafts off eBay. Both in tubes with years old waxed paper around them. One tube is marked "Sprite, Mini Cooper", the other "Sprite MkIII". I can't find any identifying marks or numbers anywhere. Is there any way of identifying them. They do both look like A series cams.

Sprite mini cooper. Does it have 3/8in wide lobe and a ring around it? if so 88G229.
Sprite Mk3 should have 1/2in lobe.
If you can grab a copy of Vizard or the old Special Tuning Catalogue the cams are detailed in both.

The fact that you know that right off the top of your head, is not exactly normal ....your sick man, gets some help.

Prop and the Blackhole Midget

Maybe this helps...

OK, more info.

Cam1 3/8 lobes. 2 rings Pin drive

Cam2 1/2 lobes. no rings, spider drive

1) AEA630 1100 & Midget.
2) AEG522 Midget3 / Sprite 4
Looking at spec they appear to be same cam with different drives & lobe widths.

2 Cams I can make use of then. I think I paid about 18 including postage and they are new old stock still in the protective gunge and waxed paper.

You might need my pin drive oil pump, Rob, as you seem to have the last new pin drive cam in the civilised world.
