MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Clutch Slave Cylinder
I need to buy a new clutch slave cylinder for my Lenham build, I don't want to buy a cheap one for the sake of a few quid but neither do I want to buy an expensive one (which turns out to be the same as the cheap one) So what are my options - looking at the usual websites they vary in price from £60.00 (Moss) to £12.00 (eBay) Is the Moss one at £60.00 any better (or worse) than the cheap ones. My build is a ground up from a new shell with almost everything new so although money is not in an endless pit I don't mind spending to get the proper item. |

What size engine? The 1275 slave is different to the 948/1098. |

Sorry should have said it's a 1275CC engine |

They do vary a bit. I bought one from Powertrack Brakes which was £30 or so. It was made by County. It fitted ok and has performed well. |

You could get a local engineering firm or the likes of Past Parts to re-sleeve your old cylinder. Fit a remote bleed for ease when re-installing. Alan |

Thanks for the replies, I don't have the old one anymore Alan it had basically biodegraded and yes I will be installing a remote bleed when I put the car back together again. |

Slaves are wonderfully simple beasts. I got mine from AH Spares. £30 +vat, and it's been fine. If you feel the bore and don't like it, I'll be surprised. |
