MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Early original 1275 Camshaft PICTURE wanted.
Does anyone have a GENUINE, BMC, EARLY ORIGINAL 1275 standard camshaft, IN ANY CONDITION? If so, could you please take a close up detailed picture of the FRONT journal only, --- clearly showing the oil grooves and the whole journal length. And perhaps if you have a 'later' replacement camshaft, preferably also a genuine BMC item, could you also photo that too, (front journal only). I am looking for ANY subtle difference, that might exist between the front journals on the above 2 camshafts. |

Thanks Dave. I can't see ANY difference between them. Am I right? Same distance from the rear of the journal to the circumferential oil groove on ALL of them? Or is there a difference in the width of the grooves? Which is the oldest original and which a replacment? |

They're all original 1275, but of unknown age. They all appear to be the same. |

Dave. Are any of those actually useable? Are the lobes within tolerance and the journals ok? |

I'm sure some of them are. One of them may be from the development engine. If not, it's somewhere amongst the pile! |
