MG Midget and Sprite Technical - electric fuel pump

HI, Has anybody got a recommendation for an electric fuel pump for an easy fit to my 1978 Midget 1500, there are so many to choose from.
thanks in advance

I ran a facet posi-flow for a number of years without issue. Mounted in the engine bay near where the mechanical pump was.

If you choose a posi-flow, make sure it is the 60104 version as this is 1.5 - 4 psi pressure rated pump. The rest are too high pressure for carbs.

I was recommended a Hardi pump (German) by Nigel, which does seem a good make from what I've read. If I ever switch from mechanical I'd be inclined to get one.

just to confuse you even more I have a Silver Top Facet pump but this is mounted in the rear just in the offside wheel arch where the Lucas one goes on some of the A series engined cars. Its pumped successfully for many years and is still going strong. I guess I am suppoerting Malcolm's comment regarding Facet pumps
Bob Beaumont

Thanks Malcolm, Bill And Bob gives me something definite to look at.

I'm also using one of the Hardi pumps , it was easy to fit and appears very reliable so far (2 yrs) IIRC not too expensive either .

I've run a Facet Silver top for the past 6 years located like Bob's one. No problems. I also fitted an inline fuel filter just upstream of it to collect any gunk coming out of the tank. I used Gates ethanol resistant (allegedly) hose to connect it up, which has been fine.

I used a Webcon pump actually designed for Weber carbs, so has a nice low pressure and no regulator is required. Needs to be mounted near the base of the tank, like the SU was. The Webcon is quiet in operation unlike some of the Facet pumps.

I've used a Huco 13 - 3000 on 3 different cars. Its a fit and forget direct replacement for the original pump on earlier midgets - they do 2 versions - pusher or sucker, dependent on where you want to mount it

7.21440.51.0 Pierburg 3-5 psi works without problems, needs no maintenance for 70.00 miles.
