Can an ehaust manifold mfrom a 1098 fit and work properly on a 1298? I have an aquaintance building up a warmed up 1298 in a bug-eye? |

I'm assuming that you mean 1275 rather than 1098. Later 1098 engines used the same manifold as the 1275 - part number 12G420. The earlier 1098 manifold - 12A191 - would not be much use on a 1275. |

Thanks Dave. 1275 it is. Fingers moved faster than my brain. How can I identify the difference in the 1098 manifolds? Sandy |

The part number should be cast into the manifold. I'll see if I can dig out some photos from my archive. They are quite different. |

OK, here's the early 1098 manifold

This is the later 1098 and most 1275s

...and this is the studded manifold (without studs, in this case) as fitted to the last 1275s
