MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Experiences with home made leaf springs?
Good evening Gentlemen Do any of you have experience with upgrading the leaf springs with adding an extra layer of leaf? I have attached a photo, is the backside of rivet in the clamp only embedded in a hole in the leaf, or does the rivet hold those two parts together? ![]() |

The distance C is with the spring without load, free, i suppose. I would be very interresting though, to know the distance C with load on the springs, with the car resting on its wheels..... ![]() |

Anybody know of the parabolic leaf springs? They are awailable for the Land Rovers, dont know about the Spridgets |

Not seen any for Spridgets but they are available for MGBs so have a look in that sections for various views of them. Variances at the rear springs will also effect the front of course. |

Those clips are riveted on. I once tried (with some success) to revive and balance out a pair of springs by completely disassembling them and swapping alternate leaves between the two. Malc. |

Spridget springs are too narrow for parabolics, their is not enough sideways strength. |
