MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Fixing dashboard to shroud 76 Midget
I am trying to fit the dashboard to the shroud, all documents show three bolt fixings into presumably captive nuts. However all I have is a 25mm turn-down of metal with a few holes. Are there some angle brackets missing?

On my '74 US spec. pillow dash, there are 4 studs that go through that flange and are held on by nuts. Not sure if your non-pillowed dash is the same, but probably is.

Thanks for your response Jack. I should perhaps have explained that the car was LHD brought back from California and converted to RHD so the dash I am trying to fit is the UK RHD which is not the same as far as I am aware. |

Right, that probably makes a difference! I was just looking at the Moss Europe catalog and it looks like maybe the dash has 3 bolts going from it into captive nuts in the crash rail, which is then connected to the car by #41 stud plates and nuts. Just a guess, as I can't see the back of the dash. |

UK cars have three set screws which go vertically into captive nuts behind the flange. |

On the usa car... we do have some brackets on the bottom of the dash that connect to the firewall... 2, maybe 3 brackets It's not a very fun job, dealing with all that bird's nest wiring....make sure the battery is disconnected Prop |

Thanks for the help, seems as though the captive nuts have been removed on my car! |
