MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Front Brake Caliper
Does anyone know where to purchase good front brake calipers, not Chinese? I want to retain the original pads and not go for the likes of Peter May Big Brake Kit if at all possible. |
Peter King |
Big Red do a reconditioning service. Powertrack brakes may have NOS |
Bob Beaumont |
I bought mine from Sussex Classics. No complaints. |
Greybeard |
rebuild them yourself with stainless steel pistons from Minispares - then never have to do them again ever. |
Rob Armstrong |
I bought one from MG OC, works perfectly. No idea of the brand... I also still have the seized one (don't know if it is the genuine one...?) if you are interested to do a rebuilt :P |
CH Hamon |
Has anyone got a spare OE Right Hand Caliper that they don't want? |
Peter King |
To fit or to rebuild? |
Dave O'Neill 2 |
Either way Dave, whatever you've got. Peter |
Peter King |
I have one. I think it's okay but a refresh wouldn't hurt. The left one is f****** though - it's cracked at the bottom mount. You can have it for postage plus a fiver to the RNLI. Edit: if I can find it haha! |
Greybeard |
Powertrack Brakes are a good source of genuine AP Caparo (Lockheed) brake parts. http://www.powertrackbrakes.co.uk Cheers Mike |
M Wood |
Ok, that's fine Dave, if you send me your email with address and cost of postage and the cheque to the RNLI Thanks Peter |
Peter King |
Dave, Error in my reply if you can send me your address by email with the cost of postage, I 'll send you cheques for the postage and one for the RNLI for a £5.00. Thanks Peter |
Peter King |
Greybeard, Sorry my error in calling you Dave, you must think I'm Trigger! |
Peter King |
Yeah I was wondering. Let me get into the Shed to verify it's where I think it is and I'll get back to you. Hope it's not too urgent lol! |
Greybeard |
Hi Greybeard, Not to urgent as I have other jobs I need to do, if you can let me know either way I'd be very grateful. |
Peter King |
Okay I found it. I'll email this evening, bit tied up at work now. |
Greybeard |
Hi Greybeard, Dave O'Neill has contacted me and say's he has two R/H Calipers so if you can't find yours I can get one from Dave. The one I'm after is manufactured by Lockheed with a casing number of 3243 222C. Kind regards Peter |
Peter King |
Okay no worries. I haven't checked the casting number on mine, but if Dave is offering the correct part you're sorted. OTOH I can easily check mine if it's needed. Not tonight though, I want my bed! |
