MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Heater inlet hose
Inlet hose from grill to heater split. It was original so lasted well. I have looked for one to no avail. Anyone know of any stock or other supplier for non standard please?

Dave Holden sell two sizes of heater blower air inlet ducting hose (is 4 inch diameter required?): https://www.holden.co.uk/displayProducts.asp?sg=1&pgCode=083&sgName=Electrical&pgName=Heaters+%26+Electrical+Fans&agCode=0210&agName=Heater+Accessories Cheers Mike

Extractor fan / tumble drier exhaust hose from your local plumbing / diy store might be suitable [and surely much cheaper than Holden].
Doug Plumb
Yes, 4" is the size. You can order from Home Depot on line or probably a dozen others on e-bay quite economically. I have used the cheap plastic type with good success and you can also get aluminized (what I will probably use the next time I replace it). If you want to keep engine heat from infiltrating your cool, fresh air and you have the room you can even buy insulated hose.

| MGOC sell the convoluted hose, but the later one with the plain middle section is listed as not available. What I did, a few years ago, was to cut the convoluted hose to length and force fix it over the plain central section that I cut from the damaged original. Its lasted ages and enough left over to do another repair in the future if needs be. Without a very close inspection, you'd never know.

Peter, I feel such an idiot, what a good idea! Binned my original with holes and now realise yours is such an elegant solution! Simon

Nice idea Peter; that's a winter's evening task!

Mine's broken in two places. Held together with duct tape for two years and seems okay except it looks like crap. I ran without it for a while but the inside of the car stunk.
Greybeard
Hi chaps, spoke to Greg at Sussex, I now have one that fits but it’s an earlier hose material. As Greybeard says it’s the pong that’s the problem with the split one. Thanks for the suggestions.

Make sure you get the aluminum based hose... not the cheap vaginal stuff...it looks better, holds up better and performs better then the low priced junk
1 Paper
1 Paper, Missouri, USA ... not the cheap vaginal stuff... Are we still on about heater hoses or street prostitutes?
A de Best
Simon: NEVER throw anything out. One day the replacement will be in worse condition than the original and you can swap them over again.
