MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Heater removal.

Hi all,
Apart from possibly colder legs, are there any MECHANICAL downsides to removing the heater on the MK III?

Depends on how you route the coolant.

If you block the outlet then under hard driving cylinder nr 4 can get a bit hot leading to pinking etc.

If you just bypass it with a piece of hose you will be fine.

Some use the heater matrix as an emergency cooling solution

I currently have mine a shelf, rusting away

Is there a particular reason for wanting to remove it?

Also a brake booster fits very well in the hole thus created
