MG Midget and Sprite Technical - how long will goodridge brakelines last
This PTFE lined product is guaranteed FOREVER. I bought it 8 years ago. When will I change it. I use Dot 4 in a single brake circuit.... Flip |

When I worked on aircraft, rubber lined hoses had a life of 3 years, PTFE hoses were classed as on condition, with no set life. In other words, if there is no obvious damage, then they are safe. Dave |

You might find the fittings at each end will rust out before the hose fails. On the replacement lines I had made I opted for stainless steel fittings and clear plastic over tubing to prevent chafing damage. |

Mine are 13 years old with no problems yet. But being a single circuit system I have been thinking of changing them just in case. |

Gentlemen thank you for all the information, just what I needed. Daniel, Goodridge makes brake lines with stainless steel fittings for 3 pound more. They also make fuel lines on demand. |

I've recently used Pirtek www.pirtek.co.uk to make a bespoke braided clutch hose for my Datsun gearbox. I've found them excellent and they have branches all over the place. |
