I took a picture of my ignition switch wiring just yesterday! if you can wait a short while I will get it uploaded. at the moment I am.... well.... in the bath! ha ha :-D

bit blurry but hope this helps. didn't know I could upload from my phone! ace!

M Le Chevalier

1500 btw but should be the same on all models... right?
M Le Chevalier

Mines a '73 1275 Midget. By chance I happen to have recorded the wires on the back of the switch too.

Looks a little different to Malc's though. I suspect there were some additions on the 1500.

I'll try and take a pic of the other stuff later today if nobody else does. But study the wiring diag, it's pretty straight forward.

Richard. Following on from my ignition switch.

Here's the alternator plug.

Here's the coil.

Here's the solenoid.

And just in case you ask. Here's the fuse box.

Lawrence Slater

Don't forget to fit the fusebox in the correct orientation. You have a 50/50 chance of getting it right.

If you look on the back, there are two terminals linked together. They are for the sidelights (red wires).

IGNORE MY PICTURE!!!

I have a problem with wiring, maybe related to this as it is something I was messing with. let me re check my wiring on that one.

sorry but DO NOT USE MY PICTURE!
M Le Chevalier

Hey, sorry about that. Ignition wiring is OK.

I was in the garage and had just wiring up the wiper motor. I turned on the ignition to check it worked and the fuse blew.

At that moment I panicked about what was wrong and as I had messed with the ignition switch a couple of days back there was a sudden though something might be wrong there and I had better cover my ar*e before someone copied me and made a mess of their own car!

So, yes, ignition fine, I have a leak to earth on the green circuit on the front half of the car somewhere. In a word... urgh! (the ignition switch isn't even fused btw, so wrong wiring wouldn't have caused my problem anyway).

Cheers,
Malcolm
