MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Modified rocker shaft
I am changing the rocker shaft on my 948 engine. The new shaft has holes for the grab screw both on pedestal no. 1 and no. 2, but of course only pedestal 1 has a grab screw on it. Can I just use it with the pedestals I have, go should I get a second pedestal with grab screw to fill the hole in the rocker shaft? |

I think the shafts are universal to fit all A series. As long as one oil feed lines up with your pedestal it will be ok. Peter |

Thanks, Peter! |

I should add....make sure your oil feed to pedestal and from pedestal to shaft line up! I have seen a few A series lately where folk have fitted stuff wrong and closed off the oil supply to the shaft! Peter |

Ouch... that sounds tragic |

Yep, I've seen a few race engines with the rocker box full of swarf. |
