MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Motors TV

I used to enjoy Motors TV via Freeview. After recently receiving a prompt to retune the tv, I now find I can only see a 'colour test chart' when selecting channel 240. Has anyone else had this problem and more importantly found a way to view the programmes?

240 gives me a message saying "you do not have the right equipment to receive MotorsTV". I know you need HD (which we don't have).

They have stopped broadcasting MotorsTV on Freeview, it remains on Sky and Virgin.

I didn't realise it had been available on freeview :o(

This is a statement on their website:

"DEAR MOTORS TV UK VIEWERS,
MOTORS TV UK IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE ON FREEVIEW (CHANNEL 71) AND YOUVIEW (CHANNEL 240).

WE EXPERIMENTED WITH THESE PLATFORMS TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL AVENUES FOR SHOWING MOTORS TV COVERAGE IN BRITAIN. HOWEVER, FOR VARIOUS REASONS THIS SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICE DID NOT MATCH EITHER OUR EXPECTATIONS OR THOSE OF OUR PARTNERS, WHICH LED US TO CEASE BROADCASTING MOTORS TV UK ON THESE PLATFORMS.

MOTORS TV UK REMAINS AVAILABLE TO VIEWERS THROUGHOUT COUNTRY ON SKY CHANNEL 447 AND VIRGIN MEDIA CHANNEL 545."

hi doug,
if u have the internet u can get it on a programme called CRIC FREE STREAMS. in fact you can get everything on there, all the sport channels.

It was never 100% on Freeview

It was on the Freeview Guide when you look at it but was broadcast via the internet.

Our Sony HD Smart TV made in 2010 had it on the Guide but even when connected to the net it could not display the programme.

Our 2012 Sony HDD recorder also had it on the Guide but when that unit was connected to the net it did show MotorsTV.
