As part of my engine out I've had a look at the clutch, I dont think I need a new one, but what do you think? pic to follow |

I've fitted one of these. A direct replacement for a carbon thrust bearing.

Thanks Alan, I already have a roller release bearing fitted. |
BruceBurrowes |
Ah but is it just any old roller release, or is it as Alan Anstead Special Roller Release bearing ?! There is a great deal of difference ! |

I would fit a new clutch, that one looks like it has a dodgy area on both driven plate and cover. |

it is, unfortunately, not an AASRR. David, i thought it was all ok, whats dodgy about it? |
BruceBurrowes |
Hard to tell from the photo, but some of the rivets look a bit close to the surface. |
Dave O'Neill 2 |
at 3 o'clock on the plate there's some dark patches that look like the surface is beginning to break up. Also there's not a huge amount of wear left before the rivets will be flush with the surface and score the cover plate. On the cover plate at 8 o'clock there are also dark discoloration which look like the clutch has been slipped and got hot in this area. This may result in grabbing or snatching on take-up. |
