MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Panel above rear bulkhead

Hi all,
I need to renew this panel as the one in my car ( 1972 Mk III ) is pretty manky & its only hardboard as far as I can see.
I can't find any mention of it in either the Moss or Sussex Classic catalogue...can anyone tell me the part number for it or is it better to make a new one with, say, OSF board or something like?
If anyone has one outside a car & can give me dimensions- that would be cool!
Cheers all,
colin

It looks like plywood on my car, carpet glued on by previous owner.

the originals are fibreboard the same as the door cards, covered in vinyl with a thin foam sandwich. The top edge is a complicated shape, which dims do you need?

I got my trim from here - http://www.pjm-motors.co.uk/index.html

Hi David,
Thanks- its the overall size in the first instance, so I can get some " stuff".
once I get enough " stuff" I'll take my own rear out & get the jigsaw working. I want to be able to put some fairly hefty speakers on too.
Sorry about the dual posting but wasn't sure exactly what sort of query I was posting..... :-(
Cheers colin

that's easy - 115 x 30 cm

I used peg board in mine andi want to say I scored it for the top piece and bent it into shape and used foam and marine vinyl

I also got big heavy 6X9 speakers in the panal...I got wooden carpet covered speaker boxes from the car stero shop... super cheap and mounted those in the boot to hold the speakers then put a piece of 12 inch wide pine covered in carpet across and connecting the 2 spaeker boxes and then secured my radio amp to that and a light fixture to light up the boot space at night with a switch

I that helps... good luck...post some photos so we can see the end result

But yes... make it yourself... it not to hard, and will save you a fortune in pirates loot....if you can find the panal by its self

I used foamboard, very lightweight, 5mm thick often used for signs and advertising boards etc, also very easy to cut with and hand saw/craft knife. Replicated the 'hinge' in the panel by making in 2 parts and then stuck duct tape to join them and allow the 'fold'. Then covered in cheap vinyl from amazon using spray carpet glue. Strong enough to hold 5" speakers. I just used the old one a template, came out pretty well, the 'fold' gives the panel a lot of its rigidity so you don't need to go nuts to hang speakers off it.
