MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Pedal box - Sebring Sprite

Hi

Any tips on making a Sebring Sprite type pedal box with two single Girling master cylinders for a MkI/II Sprite, apart from buy one?

I have a spare pedal box and possibly suitable master cylinder alloy spacer (from a Morgan). Any fabrication tips - making the new master cylinder mounting cross member, length of pushrods and availability (correct one? http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p548/GIRLING-EXTENDED-PUSH-ROD-5/16UNF/product_info.html).

Any tips on sourcing good quality master cylinders? Are genuine ones around? 0.75 for brakes, what size for clutch?

Thanks
Mike

your best bet might be to ask Martin Ingall for advice, he should be able to point you in the right direction.

Alan A will probably be along soon, he knows lots about Sebrings too.

Mike,

I have just had one made , drop me and e mail and i will send you my phone number etc

I used merlin for the rods and burton power for the cylinders , came in at about £100 excluding having box made

Hi
I've made a couple but never made any drawings however if you contact Martin Ingal via the Sebring website he may supply you with a suitable drawing.
I did write an article about making the Sebring pedal box for Midget & Sprite Club magazine Mascot.
If you contact me via www.masckent.org I will dig out the article and scan it to you.

I did the tilton set up....the best #1 mod ....I went with the whole tilton set up ...pedals, box, cly balance bar....it was well worth the cost

The main issue to be aware of...its a tight fit, esp on the clutch master...I had to notch the rain channel on the bonnet for the clutch master resivoir cap to clear

I also went stainless steel braided hose with AN fittings...it was just so much easier to make the bends and connections over hard brake lines
