MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Red Lens Paint ?

Has anyone tried colouring bulbs or lenses ?

I'd like to change the reversing lights to show Red, so that I can use them as a type of Rear Fogs.

Graham

I have... my gauge bulbs, it does okay, I used a paint made just for painting glass from a hobby shop, you probably dont want to use anything else because bulbs can get fairly hot

The problem is... if you coat the bulbs lightly, then the red dosnt show up very well and looks light pink, if you coat the bulbs heavily then the bulbs show red but the light is really dim and has very little glow... so its trying to find that middle ground

Perhaps a brighter bulb that puts out twice the candle power that way you can paint them heavy and the end result will be a normal candle power looking bb but in red bulb light...just guessing

yes, I just painted the inside of the lenses with red paint. I used some I had lying about. They are set as extra brake lights.
