MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Rostyle colour?

Hi All,
Some of my Rostyle wheels are looking a little tatty now, so will do them up over the summer.
Can anyone suggest the most authentic Silver & black colours ( names or numbers) - can I get them in Halfords? or is it better to use an auto paints place?

About to do the same with mine but handpainting the two colours never seems to come out very well, are they ever done in one colour (black or chrome)?

did mine a few years back think i did them with a ford silver and masked up for the satin black

Many years ago I refinished a set of the early-style Rostyle wheels with silver powder coat and satin black from a spray can. Sorry, that's as clear as I can be on colours.

For masking I used Letraline (try ebay and Amazon) for the edges, as this was far easier to curve around a tight radius, then conventional masking tape over the larger areas. I was pleased with the results.

why not just buy the cans and mask kits from the usual suppliers

I got recon part exchange from the MGOC £45.oo per wheel. I did the spare myself, ie got it shot blasted & powdercoated, then painted the black bits myself, that cost £60.00 for the shot blast & silver powdercoat. For the part ex the old wheels have to be serviceable, mine were really tatty but they accepted them. The replacements were really nice.

I've never cared much for Rostyles, so I think they look better painted just one color. Like Prop, I also like the beauty ring look.
