MG Midget and Sprite Technical - sticking front carb
Just recently started sticking 1275 SU HS2 I think symptom, pull out the choke everything fine as the chock is returned the jet at the bottom of the carb sticks about 8-10mm below the mixture nut. runs rough obviously. a light touch on the jet returns iit to the correct place. does the same if moved my hand, I can't see anything loose, the springs are OK and the cam os smooth. It started to do this after a period of about 3 weeks non use. Nice long run of about 20 miles running fine. parked for about 4 days then started sticking thanks |

Mine did the same, turned out to be the needle wasn't seating properly in the jet assembly as the latter was slightly loose. Tightening the assembly whilst making sure the needle didn't stick did the trick. |

Thanks. Carb is now off and sticking just as it does on the car. Slightest tap sideways sends it back home correctly. I'll try the jet trick you've suggested. Thanks |

Have you centred the jet? |

Tiny burr on the jet. Now sorted. Thanks for the advice folks |

The question comes to mind, what caused the burr and did it do any other damage? |

Yeah... sounds like the needle and jet were not seated correctly Id say yourin okay shape... you caught it fairly fast so a doulbt there was very much wear and filing took place... just pay attentoion to it over the next 100 miles ...but im goijg to guess your good Prop |
