MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Valvoline oils
Hello All (especially Debs) So Debs reccomended I use VR1 in my 1500 - which is what I'm going to do. But does anyone know whether I can use Vavoline Turbo oils? This stuff: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VALVOLINE-TURBO-MOTOR-OIL-20W-50-MOTOR-OIL-5-LTR-x4-/270578900353?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item3effc25d81 |

If the oil is as good as the spelling in the ad,keep clear! That seems a lot of money when VR1 is around £28 for the same amount.Deb is the expert, stick with it. |

There are 4 5l bottles in that auction. £20 a gallon... seems cheap enough to me. |

you could if you wanted to, I'd suggest you ask for made/fill date to find out how old it is 20 litres, that's a lot, 20 years supply for L |

Well, actually I was bidding on 75 litres... My bid was in at £59 and it was only down the road from me. Sadly, I asked him what the shelf life was on it and it turned out to be 2007 - so end of listing =[ Oh well! |

if that was shelf life rather that fill date then possibly just as well unless you know how it's been stored however I'm sure L would say if you won it take the top off and have a look at it and if it looks good then just give it a good stir over turn up and back again prior to putting in your engine there are threads with this subject one fairly recently and/or have a look at this - http://www.kewengineering.co.uk/Auto_oils/index.htm |
