just put another regulator on and goes up to 15.7. is that ok.
bob taylor

Have you cleaned the contacts... use a glass pen from a camera shop

I know weather makes a big differance on these things depending on your local climate...I had to adjust mine in the spring and fall until I upgraded to an alt with built in electronic reg

got the regulator working ok now and new battery.. question. when it was pumping out 18v would this have been the reason that i had 2 electronic ignition modules pack up after about 8 miles. im sure i asked this question to the supplier and im sure they said no it shouldnt make any difference but it seems logical to me.
what du reckon. bob.

bob taylor

Well...
if your module doesn't fail now that you've corrected the over voltage issue you'll know the answer to your question.

i aint got one now. dont know whether to chance another.
bob taylor

Depending on what sort of electronic ignition it was, it may have its own voltage regulator, so the supply voltage could vary...within reason.
