MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Wheelbox leak?

We have a persistent leak in one of the cars which appears to be coming from the wheelbox. The bexel seal to the scuttle is fine, I'm left with the impression it is coming in through the spindle - cant' see anywhere else! Has anyone encountered this? (New wheelbox BTW)

Week or so ago there was a discussion re replacing the spindle seals on the MGA board, don't know if they are still the same.
How often do you take the car diving? Seems like noticeable water would take a couple inches over the bonnet.

I've done nigh on everything I can imagine to try to stop WETLEG

And as I'v sealed resealed and re-resealed everything in sight at the wiper spindles I reckon it has to be leaking down the spindles

It takes a while to wet the old trousers then suddenly

At least we are not alone! The car get used quie often, and every time it rains you can count on a wet leg ...

I have a vague recollection of water being drawn past the extremely worn spindles on my Sprite. I definitely remember doing the repair twice- once to replace the gaskets under the bezel, and again because the damn things were still leaking.

I drilled out the stems and installed PTFE lined split bushings top and bottom, with an oil hole between. I cant guarantee that's what solved the problem, but they didn't leak after that.

I had the problem until i rebuilt the car. The water was coming in around the recess where the bonnet hinges go. The leak came from unseen corrosion on the bulkhead.
