MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Where can i source..
I'm currently putting new vinyl on all my interior trim and i must say, one of the most enjoyable parts of the resto so far, and since i was doing so good i thought i'd do the same to the dashboard. Striped it of all the gauges and stuff but when i was about to remove the green indicator warning light it had seized, i got the front off in one piece but the plastic bit holding it in place in the dash broke. No worries i thought those should be reproduced i thought, but i'm really having trouble finding a new light. Of course i want it to look like the original. I found one in the link below that looks the same on the front but that really sounds expensive to me. So anyone know where i can source a new light for a more reasonable price? http://www.frogeyespares.co.uk/item.asp?cID=6&scID=14&iID=255 Thanks Alex |

THe AH Spares one is about £4 cheaper (DAS184) Or really cheap and cheerful AAU4824from Sussex (about £3). Also have a look at autoelectricalspares.co.uk |

I just used some green acetate and stuck it behind the holes in the dash. |

Mine's had green acetate behind the holes in the dash since I bought the car 20 years ago and thought that was original. Perhaps I'm wrong (again!) |

When I went looking for one of these years ago for my frogeye I was told the original item was no longer made, I don't know if that is still the case. I wasn't too bothered about originality so just searched through a favoured electronics supplier till I found a bulb holder assembly that was similar and fit the hole. Any chance of being able to glue the damaged plastic bit back together. |
