MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Where do bolts go for footwell dip switch?
Got the horn sorted, now I'm after a bit more help. I can't find the mounting holes for the light dip switch. When I got it painted bitumastic mat was laid in the footwell which has covered up the holes. I found the top bolt hole then swang it through and arc but I can't find the bottom bolt hole. From the front I can't see the hole either. Could someone please tell me where it should be. Thanks ![]() |

Are you just trying to mount the switch or do you have a mounting bracket? |

I have the mounting bracket and it's been on there before. Perhaps I just had a screw in the bottom and it's double skinned which is why I can't see the hole on the other side. I removed the carpet to do it and came back a few hours later to see a puddle of brake fluid on the floor. One more thing to fix. :( ![]() |

Greg. You are correct, you can't see the lower hole from the front because it is a captive nut in the footwell stiffener. However, the lower hole is directly below the top one. Her's a pic of my '65 car which I don't think is different to yours. Sorry it's a bit blurred, I was a bit too close, but it should give you some idea of where to start. Bernie. ![]() |

From your first pic, it looks like you were nearly there, but about 1/2" out. Bernie. |

Thanks Bernie very helpful! With a bit of proding I found it. Without your pic I think it would have taken me quite a long time because I really thought it laid over a bit. |
