MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Who are the 'MG Enthusiast's Three Stooges'?

Les Bengtson, Arizona, USA

Yes I am still intrigued about your rather edgy statement from the last thread I have copied and put in the title in this thread for comment.

But what I wanna know is, who 'ARE' the "MG Enthusiast's Three Stooges"?

Les....is this really anyway to conduct yourself sir?

Ill have to believe that you must include yourself in this merry little band of stooges.( You knuclehead!)
After witnessing your stooge like behavior first hand!

Ha ha ha!

I myself have always preferred the musketeers!

Hey Steven,

I'm guessing you know the old saying about every family having at least one crazy person, and if you don't know who it is, it's you.

Ha Ha, maybe applies here?

Charley!
Nice one! I havent laughed that hard all week....Not what I expected for responce but I have to admit I recognize the thought process...Cheers!

I think Prop Easily topped you with his responce...
its nice to see everyones got a sence of humour even if its at my expense....Ha ha ha....I think the real three stooges would at least have approved of that!

:-)!

Did anyone see this updated version of the stooges? I ran to the movies when it came out and enjoyed it very much!

Well, I kind of take a contrarian view on this.

I rather hope I was considered to be one of them.

Recognition at last. LOL.
Lawrence Slater

Lawrence,
Ive always admired personalities that take the high road, no matter how the chips were stacked against them....make your own rules in the face of adversity...Much more fun! :-) LOL!

To tell the truth I always felt a little more like Victor Frankenstien...

Scavenging the scrap yards with a new peice to attach to an MG that needed resurrecting. Even he must have had his stooge moments!

The midget I aquired is the only MG that still has its original drive train that I havent had to rebuild.

So much fun to drive these machines...Im looking forward to spring... 2014 I hope it will be a great one for everyone!

Steven Devine

Wow.

Is that your beastie in the front, when you first got it?
Lawrence Slater

I like that little bug in the back ground

The black MGA in this picture was in exactly the same state as this car when I bought it.

I dont have any pictures of the car before it was restored but this example I found is a little better than what I started with! These were up in New Hampshire....I think they wanted $4000 apiece for the MGs.

I found mine down in Morrisville PA.... I remember the highlight of the trip towing tha car back over the George Washington bridge in Newyork....

Thats where the rotted floor boards fell out of the mga all over the highway! We heard all the cars beeping there horns....we never looked back just kept on going!

Steven Devine

Prop. That "little bug in the background" looks suspiciously like a Porsche 356 and next to it is a 911 or 912. They'd be nice restored.

Bernie.

What a great adventure it was...I borrowed My friend Mike Nolans 1985 Buick Riviera and rented a U-haul trailer.

This was 12 years before anyone even heard of Mr Christy...

We spent all day trying to find a U-Haul trailer after money changed hands. For some reason they were all rented out that weekend in that area.

The Buick had an air ride suspension that let go before we got to the George Washington bridge so there were occasionally a lot of sparks behind us where the trailer dragged.

I met a lot of fellow MG enthusiests and spent many hours tracking down parts.

For a decade I would watch the summers Come and go dreaming of the day I could go for a ride. Sometimes in despair it would never come together.

Believe me I had my fill of being razzed about the heap in my garage and many times was close to selling out.

Im glad I didnt and Im happy good fortune shined on me when Mackay took pity on me and helped me get the heap back together. It came out better than I hoped
but it was due to guidence from my friends and this website.

The car for me was about the friendships I made more than the reult in the end, But I do enjoy driving it.

Its the first car I ever owned that had decent paint!
Ive driven beaters that served me well for years!

Here a picture of how it looked for at least 7 years.
