MG Midget and Sprite Technical - window inner seal clip

i need a quick reminder which way round the retaining clips 17 go on the inner seal on the door glass from moss site they show the flat part onto the door and the bent out side towards the glass is that correct.

Mark,
From memory, they fit with the flat part towards the glass.
The bent part with prongs then fits onto the door lip.
The flat part with the hooks fits over the metal strip on the inner seal.

Agree with S Holt, thats the way I did mine.

You will need to make yourself a hooked type of tool to fit them. Not a fun job.

or buy one, not that expensive and last a lifetime. :)
After 20 years had to replace the doorrubbers ect again so was pleased to be able to use it again.

I made one which did the job glad i dont have to do that every week , i wonder how they were fitted in the factory they cant have messed around like i did i did wonder if they fitted them first and slid the glass into the carrier inside the door.

Buy the tool and put a small blob Of grease in the V to stop the clip from falling out.

Thats a good tip from Bernie!
I lost the clips many times so had a telescopic magnet in my left hand for finding the clip somewhere in the doorbottom :)

Been there two or three times. You may as well do this job with the door card removed, as you'll be fishing clips out of the door bottom multiple times.

And yes, the flat side goes toward the glass.
