MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Wiper arms
Anybody located a source for replacing the spring in the wiper arms. My wiper arms are good, but the tension springs that put pressure to hold the blade against the screen have rusted away. |

Hi Guy Is this for the Frog? It has a spring steel blade rather than a spring. |
Bob Beaumont |
No, Bob the Frog ones are good. Its the other car. I could buy new arms but am just being tight fisted, as usual. The arms are stainless steel and in good condition. But the springs inside have rusted and broken so the blade just flaps wimpishly on the screen. I do have various springs saved over the years, but none suitable for this. |

If you are really feeling economical, springs can be wound from piano wire around a former - easiest if you have a lathe but can be done manually with care. |

That sounds like a fun thing to try! I guess a slow settimg on an electric drill or even my old hand drill would work. Anyone got an old piano the can drop in the post for me? |

Guy I've a large box of old wiper arms, several different types, can you post a pic and a measurement and I'll find a couple to match. |
