MG Midget and Sprite Technical - wiper rack

I am taking the wiper rack out to put into my new shell , is this routing of the rack correct as it does not look correct to me.

Mark,
as no one else has replied I'll say no, it doesn't look right to me.

I can't think on my Heritage shell I can remember seeing that crossbar in that position but if it was I'd still expect the rack to run in a straight line under it.

I have seen one done like that. It was a total PITA to remove! Grrrr!

On my Midget that I rebuilt without any really reference or instructions, just how I felt it went together best, I ran it more or less straight between the wheelboxes, underneath that stay.

Hope that helps,
Malc.

Not a great picture I know but shows the rack going over the stay as you have it in your picture. Car was almost completely unmolested before we got it so probably just as it left the factory. Agree it is a bit fiddly done that way.

Mine goes over the stay, but with a much smoother curve. Are the wheel boxes different on the Frogeye?

That's how I fitted mine too (over the stay) as it seemed to provide the smoothest route for the rack cable.
