MG MG Y Type - Accelerator pedal
Hi All,
I was reminded during a recent 650 km return trip to Wagga from Canberra for the Gathering of the Faithful weekend of how uncomfortable the accelerator pedal becomes on the ball of my right foot. I have put up with the original arrangement for the past five years but decided that I needed to finally do something about it! So I machined a pedal out of aluminium that is a direct replacement for the barrel. What a difference! It is a trivial job to replace with the correct part if needed for a show, but I think that the pedal is now a permanent fixture on "Montgomery". Here are a few pics of what I came up with. I could be persuaded to make a few more if there is interest. Email me for details. Regards, Ewan ![]() ![]() |

Good to see someone has lined the cockpit, as I have, and similar ducktape. I used soundproofing as insulation, and the results are significant. No need for a heater anymore, and minimal engine noise. Much more from the back axle, alas. |
