MG MG Y Type - Anti-Sway Bar
Still looking for a anti-sway bar to fit a 53 YB ? Any leads ??? |
Ray |
Hey, Ray, When are you coming down to check out my YB? Scott |
Scott Barrow |
One from an MG B will fit I believe with only minor modifications. |

Do your lower front spring wishbones have the lug holes? If not, I am pretty sure I have a set somewhere I can look out for you ... though no anti-sway bar itself. |
Paul Barrow |
How are you Scott ? I'll be heading your way again soon. I'll give you a call. Dave/Paul as for the sway bar I have all the connections on the car in original form and in great condition. Just missing the bar. Realy don't want to modify. There is one out there in someones pile-o-junk so I'll just keep looking. Thanks All. Ray |

Ray Best bet will be to take a bunch of measurements from Scott's when you are over and have one made. I think you will be very lucky indeed to just stumble across one frankly as we all know Ys are now no longer being dumped but are becoming quite sort after in almost any condition - no longer being used as a source of spares for T Types thank goodness. Ray, I would follow Paul's suggestion and have one made and at the same time have it made with a thicker section rod so that it will actually work and control body roll!!!! I am running 24mm on my YT and TD and they do the trick but that does depend on whether you intend to push your car through corners on occasions. Cheers Richo YT3208. |
