MG MG Y Type - ANYONE LOOKING FOR A YB
I have read Jim Henderson's posting for the first YB - it will be interesting to see what it goes for. However, as I am occasionally contacted about available Y Types and quite often YB's I thoight that I would draw attention to a YB that is for sale in Oxfordshire (UK). It's on page 64 of the Wednesday 8 July edition of Classic Car Weekly. There is a photograph together with a brief description of the car. The seller is asking £4995. It may well have been sold but for anyone interested the phone number is 01235 522958. I have no finacial interest in the car and dont know of it.Its registration number is JBX 62. An interested individual may wish to follow this up, though as I mentioned it may well have been sold. Good luck Jerry |

Jerry, You could have bought the ist YB for roughly the same figure a couple of weeks ago till somebody with mg connections mentioned it was worth a fortune!! now with it heading towards 10 plus by the time you have replaced every thing that ages over forty years in a barn it will become quite a pricy YB John UMG624 |

This car is on the market Price £20.000 sounds a lot but whoever buys should have a car which will last for years without anything other than routine servicing costs.owners phone no is 01324720761 John UMG624 |

That's an awful lot of money for a Y saloon! Though no doubt someone might be prepared to pay near that. Interestingly I don't think that Barry Walker has sold the £35k YT yet. Frankly if I had £20k to purchase an MG then I would look round for a good and usable TC for slightly more but I haven't so it's all academic! Anyhow good luck to the potential purchaser of the Y and hope to see him/her at future Y events. From damp Warwickshire - and it supposed to be summer! Jerry |

Jerry, Concur, be like winning lottery to get someone to part that much for good saloon that is 100% genuine, in my opinion. Took my YB on 66 mile run yesterday evening as it had forecast todays wet weather, not stopped all day apart from the small break between downpours. Richard |
