Does anyone have a review regards this book

I have a copy of the earlier printing - I think this is available via the MGCC or MGOCC? Good book in my opinion.

I have the older version (twice actually) and I think it's a good book. It's about 50/50 Y/Magnette content and I always enjoy the flowery english of the roadtesters that weren't known for being very outspoken when describing a bad car. Not that the Y needed useless flattery!

I have both books and they are both excellent. The MGCCY used to sell the earlier edition but this has been out of print now for several years. The new edition contains all the old reports, and some new ones to. It is a welcome return to see this reprinted and available again.

I believe Mike and Sue Silk (MGCCY Regalia people) are hoping to stock this presently so I would advise (if you are not in a burning hurry) to wait for it to come into their stock and buy from them. Hopefully, if at that time the MGCCY still operate their sales portal from www.mgytypes.org you will hear about it on my news page and be able to buy it at that time.

I say hopefully above as final details of the transfer of the website have yet to be finalized and agreed by both parties.

Both are just reprints of old road tests and data. Be aware that testers in those days often failed to tell the full story, or their employers lost the advertising revenue!

I inherited a copy of an earlier edition when I bought my YB last year. This edition has a Y on the front cover, although it is not in colour. About half of the 90 odd pages are devoted to the Y Type - the rest to the Z Magnette. It includes reprints of road tests from 1947-1953 and an article on buying a Y Type from 1984. Not a bad read if you are interested in Y Types, although I think that most of the test reports can be found on the website.
