MG MG Y Type - Classic Y newsletters
Great having these on the site particularly as I was heavily involved with it back in the 80s..oh to be 28 again... Are there more to come as a lot of my collection has been given over to the project? Be good to revisit them. |

I sincerely hope so David. Thank you for your contribution to the project too. I too have vested a lot of time and effort into redacting almost the entire collection to remove personal identifying material on the request of Mike Silk who was vested by John Lawson with the copyright to these publications. I am waiting for him to get back to me with approval of the next batch. For those who are not sure what this is about - please visit our page https://www.mg-cars.org.uk/imgytr/tcy.shtml Paul |

Mike is away on a long holiday in New Zealand and I know he intends to work on the next batch when he gets back and has caught up. We also on the Y Reg site have had a good response to the news letters and want to get more posted. |

The early news letters are very interesting, thanks for putting them up. On the Y register site number 34 is missing - instead, there are two copies of issue 35. Cheers |

Thanks for the nudge there Dave. I will follow up with our partners in the MGCCY and hope to have an update for you soon. Paul |

Dave The MGCCY have advised that they will be releasing more from final proofing ... "soon" so hopefully there will be more for you "soon"! Keep nagging us if you do not see them "soon". Paul |

Did you add any more newsletters to this site Paul? Not sure I can find them if you did. |

In reply to your request, I have emailed Mike Silk and the MGCCY to request an update on the proof-reading of the scanning and redacting and to date have not received a reply. Thank you for your dedication though in looking out all the ones I was missing from my collection and getting them to me. What I can tell you is that with about only a dozen still missing ones (that Adam in California is looking out for me) the MGCCY are in receipt of all the TCYs, scanned and redacted and all they have to do is proof read them and either approve them or advise of additional redaction they want if I missed something. After all of the effort that has been expended to date, I would hope that we should have something soon for you. Hopefully either Mike Silk or the MGCCY will advise us soon as to when we can see some progress. Once approved it will not take long for me to update the page with more links. Paul |

Dear All,
Please note that 'publishing' TCY is really nothing to do with the MGCC. As owner of the 'copyright' through John Lawson of all the newsletters (I hold a complete set, by the way), I am pleased to allow both the International MG Y Type website and the MGCC Y Type Register website to have them on their sites as free downloads, as I think that they are well worth being accessible. I can also add that although John Lawson is not someone who is a strong believer in the internet, when I mentioned what was being done with TCY last year he was pleased. As the volunteer 'proprietor' of the MGG Y Type Shop for more than 10 years now (something which I will be giving up shortly and which needs a new volunteer) I do find that just keeping Shop things ticking over takes up a considerable amount of time. This means that along with other family commitments etc., finding the time to sanction the redacted versions of TCY is something that I have to fit in on an as and when basis. I am hopeful that I will be able to make progress again shortly though, but would ask everyone to be patient a bit longer. Kind regards, Mike Silk. |
