MG MG Y Type - Don't all bid at once....
As I have been known to hang around at classic car auctions, I recently received from H&H in Buxton the details of this YA, to be auctioned on Tuesday. http://www.classic-auctions.co.uk/pictures.php?&auc_salno=106C&car_carno=43748 (make sure you pick up all the link text, or in case of difficulty just go to www.handh.com and follow the links to the sale on Tuesday 17 Feb) I'm sure UMG 280 is a fine car, but £15-£17k seems a bit stratospheric, even before you allow for the strange colour of the seat piping.... |

... and the green headlining! Aaaarrrggh, as they used to say in my copy of Beano. |

Interesting Tim! It will be fascinating to see what price it actually fetches at auction. The description of the work covers the body and interior (not quite right the green inetrior!) though no mention of the state of the engine and mechanics! The T Types are even more expensive! Hopefully see some of you at Stoneleigh next Sunday. There will be a YT on the Octagon Stand finally shod on proper tyres - not those white wall jobbies! UMG 280 Y4498 Reached £10500 in the bidding in my opinion worth every penny and more, best I've seen Mal, |
