Hi Franz,
Do you have any of the original rubber? It wasn't a P , more an open P which goes over the upstand around the door. My example from NTG is 1.6mm thick, outside dimensions are 31mm x 12mm i have stuck a piece of windlace covering, again from NTG on this sample (just to show it o someone else.) I can't help with the length, my car being a YT. You could slit the P section you show in the link I guess. I am sure other people have ideas as well. (Sorry for the quality of the image, if you want better, I'll set up a tripod, as it is a bit hard to hand-hold.) regards KG ![]() |

yes i have the original ;-) but if i order in England it will cost me more than 120 Euro, will spent the money for other things i need so i orderd the P Profil for 30 Euros incl Shipping and some cloth nearly original like for 10 Euros will post some pictures in 2 weeks shipping tax and trouble , so i took some other material will cut the P to open it what glue you take ? |

Hi Franz, sorry I can't help more. The glue was just a conventional contact adhesive. (called Multi-Grab Spray Adhesive for Rubber.) Although it isn't easy (or even possible) to apply the glue inside the P, I don't think that really matters. The windlace covering is pretty well constrained anyway. I did order a full rubber kit for the car, but this stuff is an extra. cheers KG |

Hi again, Franz, Have you checked the other threads on this topic? There was one "Door seal", started by Walter Prechsl, walter@mg-tabc.org in Nov 2018. The discussion there mentions adhesive choice. regards KG |

Hi,
I read with interest the glue saga with P rubber, my car still has the original now rather tatty trim fitted and does not appear to be glued. A couple of years ago i fitted a friends car with new door trim from Woolies and started putting it on the door unglued you can do it but it's very fiddly and time consuming. i then put a line of stitching along the flat part of the p section and laceing you can then fit to door opening knowing its the same right the way round and its easy. Hi, was afraid to stich it with the machine so i take my 3m glue tape outside to fix the cloth than some glue outside the rubber and some inside normaly you have to wait 10 minutes i don t wait i put it on at once and like this it is possible but it took some time to do it no 5 minutes job |
