MG MG Y Type - EAGLE HAS LANDED

Well Guys

After 11 years without a Y Type I have now rejoined the fold when I collected the YT that I had bought from New Hampshire USA from Southampton today!

Will forward pics and more info in due course.
She is red with a red interior and has Chassis Number MGYT/EXR/4372 Engine No XPAGTR14022

Although I am aware of the item I haven't seen the advert as I get my TTT on-line. Brian Rainbow phoned me and read it out.I had completely forgotten writing it! However, I do recall the occasion back in 1969 as I was on a 1 Year placement with the County Council.

I was indeed looking for either a TA or a Y Type. I did see two Y Types locally both of which were around £75.The brakes on both required work so it was a no go as I wanted a runner. I did go and look at a TA advertised in the Birmingham Post for £120 but never found the place - of course it would be easy with Sat Nav.

No other joy so I bought a Mini Van - which cost a fortune. I did eventualy get a YA for £95 when I was working in London in 1972 as I couldn't afford to keep my Triumph Vitesse (that was a good motor).

Does anyone know of a good and reasonably priced trimmer - as I am going to have to get all the seats retrimmed ( I did know about that when I bought the car). I will await what needs to be done when I have the car tested next week. That could be a bundle of expensive fun!!!
