MG MG Y Type - fuel gauge doesn t work

after changing to negative earth
haven t tought about it before i changed to negative earth
what can i do
i don t want to change back to positive earth because i have some LED inside

or is the sender damaged

Our gauges are slightly different to that described but the resistances quoted should, I expect, be the same. They are simple units, consisting of little more than a bi-metal strip which bends when heated fed by a variable resistor in the tank.

the gauge should work after conversion, so i have to check the wires next week

I just changed my YB to negative earth and it made no difference to the operation of the fuel gauge, only had to swap the wires over on the amp gauge.

Have you checked the float in the tank
It could be full of fuel
