MG MG Y Type - Fuel sending unit bolts
I got a set of bolts for the sending unit from From The Frame up. They are larger than the originals. What is the correct size for these and who might have them? |

I think my bolts are 4BA |

I can't speak for the bolt size but good luck getting them out. I tried this recently while chasing a fuel indication fault and found it next to impossible with difficult access, rounded heads and stripped screwdriver slots. I gave up after finding the problem elsewhere with a bad connection. If the thread is BSW I will have to get some in this very small size in case I have to do it again. BSW in such small sizes is uncommon but BA is (relatively) easy. Ian Thomson |

I got 4 of the 6 out with a bit of work. Two broke., but I was able to get a vice grip on it from the inside and work them out. In measuring the originals, I get a major diameter of 0.150 in (3.90mm) The ones from FTFU measure at 0.160 in (I believe those are 3 BA) The 5/32 looks to be close at 0.156 in. Anyone purchased these from a provider and found they were correct? |

So now I am on the hunt for 5/32 32 screws. British Fasteners has them listed, but are out of stock. The only other company in the US that has them is out and cannot order them anymore. Anyone in the UK have a supplier that will carry 5/32 32 BSW? |

Try Roger at Mad Metrics Bruce see https://ttypes.org/suppliers/ Paul |
