Welcome to our Site for MG, Triumph and Austin-Healey Car Information.
MG MG Y Type - Hibernation.
It is October, the leaves are falling, ( in the northern hemishpere,) and the 'Y' types appear to have gone into hibernation. Anyone think of a good thread to start? Neil. |

Hello Neil, Well, I am interested to know how many Y-type owners enter this site, and read these threads, who are they and where are they?? Mal (LLR 285) |

Unfortunately my 49 YT has been "hibernating" for the past few years. Just hasn't been time to put it back on the road. However, I do check this site 3 or 4 times a week. Larry El Cajon California USA |

Our 47 YA gets used all year. Sometime over the winter she will get new tires...anyone have a good source for these? I check this site a couple of times each week. |

With three other MG's to drive while the weather in NE Ohio is still nice the YT gets ignored. But this winter I plan to do some major stuff to it. I check this site about 3-4 times per week. |

DO IT. I did mine the first time about 30 years ago. Took me 5 years and as the car was thought of as an orphan I made a few mistakes. Rebuilt it again 2 years ago; planned what needed doing, got most of what I needed in advance and it took about 6 months over the annual hibernation from disassembly to back on the road. The internet accounts for a lot of the time saved along with now inexpensive long distance. If you don't have it get David Lawrence's book, it is a must have if you want to get it right. And get on to this BB if you need help or advice, this is what this site needs and the TD site has. Terry |

Rob I put tires (white walls) on my YT a few years ago. Got them from Coker <http://www.coker.com/>. Just checked their site and they have both bw and ww in BF Goodrich and Firestone. They also list a Michelin but "out of stock". That listing wasn't there when I got mine. Hope this helps. Larry |

Autumn leaves are falling. We must "Y" them. going up to New England area myself in about 2 weeks. Hope some leaves are left. You just got to be a leaf-peeper. |
