MG MG Y Type - Hubcaps for YT
I am sourcing some parts for a fellow YT owner. Can anyone suggest a quality supplier for new YT hubcaps ? - 16" wheels, so not YB size. I bought some many years ago from the UK, but they were pricey and the chrome very thin. Has anyone any recent experience with suppliers of these. Thanks in anticipation, Tony Slattery The Classic Workshop Black Mountain Australia |

Hi Tony I went past Arden Products in Birmingham last week and the place looked empty and I'm sure there used to be a sign outside and I cannot recall one being there. The Y Register supply them at £21.50 each visit the regalia page (www.mgccyregister.co.uk) NTG's price is £31.50.This doesn't include VAT which of course you don't pay I think. Surprised that Paul didn't mention it though I suppose I shouldn't be! Happy New Year! from a warm UK 11c today rising to 14 in parts of the Midlands where I live and -4 just two days ago! Jerry |

Well Jerry, the last ones I bought were from the register and with little use the chrome wore very thin, so I was really wanting to know if there was only one supplier and the quality was all the same ?. They are available on eBay, with a postage quote included. Your attitude to Paul will do you no favours Pal. Leave it alone & walk away. |

Paul / Tony, Arden are very much still alive and can also supply MG YT wheel hubs if so required. You can contact them on the number correctly provided by Paul Richard |

Thanks Richard, I will contact them now. BTW - the correct email address is: j.hipwell@son-co.fsnet.co.uk Paul was misled by a search site which has the @ missing in the email address Cheers Tony |

Thanks for the update on Arden Products Richard They were indeed the suppliers of hub caps for the Y Register for many years. They may still be and to answer this I suggest a word with Mike Silk may be a way forward. I recall collecting a box of hub caps and wheel trims from AP several years ago when David Hague was Parts Secretary for the Register There were some issues with the quality of the chroming and several were returned. AP apologised and found some new chromers I don't know when you acquired your hub caps from the Y Register Tony but it is quite possible that this is where they came from! I had a new cover for the YT about three years ago (acquired from Mike). I cleaned and painted the inside with Hammerite and when dry coated the inside with grease. So far so good! All the best Jerry |

Thanks Tony for the correction. Yes I was relying on an internet search result - glad to hear Arden are still doing well. Paul |
