MG MG Y Type - LED rear lights
I splashed out on a pair of these from Terry Saunders in USA. While there were a few issue fitting them - I'll try and write it up in the blog - the result is brilliant. See picture with the job half done. Both tail-lights are illuminated. (You can almost spot the difference.)

Amazing! I'd also like to fit some, but have other priorities first. They do look rather LEDy, with all the little lights in the cluster, but I do like the thinking behind it and the improved visibility. |

Murray Can you please try taking another photo say at night at a distance of 20 ft without flash and then a similar one at 20 ft in the day? I think the LEDy aspect may just because you are close to it on this one. It will be interesting to see the comparisons. Thanks Paul |

Here are a couple of pictures. The first in the twilight, the second after dark. Both from about 7m![]() |

Hi Murray Thanks for that - I am convinced - LED is the way to go. FYI - for those who are not metric 7m = 23 foot (almost :-)) Paul |

I have had LED inserts in my D lamps on the TC since I finished rebuilding it about 4 years ago. They are an improvement everyone should make. On my YT however the D lamps are both reverse lamps (EXU) so I wasn't sure that the LED was suitable instead went for halogen, The brake lights are flared into the rear wings and are also Halogen, Terry |

... and you can now order these from Terry direct by going to http://www.mgcars.org.uk/mgccy/stores/taterry.shtml on the MG Y Type website. Safety is a sensible modification to make. Safety Fast! Paul |
