MG MG Y Type - Magazine feature
There is an interesting article on buying and owning a Y Type in the September 2003 (yes, September!) issue of Classic Car Mart. |

Where does one get a copy of this magazine? |

As you have probably noticed, we are currently reproducing a number of reprints of old(er) magazine articles on the website. A "buyers guide" is in the process of being written, however, to be sufficiently comprehensive may take a while yet to finish. Meanwhile, for anyone who is in urgent need of one, there is one in the Brooklands book "MG Y-Type and Magnette ZA/ZB" which is available from the regalia sales. I will be on the look out for a copy of Classic Car Mart though - for future possible reproduction subject to the publishers permission, so do not be too worried if you cannot get a copy. We currently have a backlog of some 20 plus articles to bring you from various magazines from over the years. It is not our policy to cover those that have been reprinted elsewhere (such as in the Brooklands book - an exception will be made in the case of the Buyers Guide as this is particularly useful - and the book is sufficiently interesting to purchase and read even if do this one). If you have any old reviews please contact me and I will tell you if it is in the "pipeline" or whether it is a new one that we have not yet come across. Happy 'Y'ing, Paul |

Hi, I'm very interesting in having a copy. I leave in France, and I don't know the magazine you speek about. I'm 33 years old, and am the owner of a Midget roadster MKI 948cc. I will have a second baby, and I'm looking for changing the Midget for a car not too expensive with wich I can cruise with my wife, my 2 children and my labrador. Y Type seems to be a good choice. I've seen terry Bone has one to sell on his website. I would like to continue with MG's, but difficult to find a car wich suits to a family. I will not ask to MG anthusiast if the Y type is better than the Riley RM, but I ask myself the question. So I'm interesting to have the most information about this car, wich can encourage me to change the Midget. Laurent |

The Y is a fairly small car for so many occupants. I wonder if a Z Magnette would be a better choice? |

I managed to get a copy of this today - walked into my newspaper shop, and there it was! I bought it before I bought anything else! God article and well worth buying the magazine for. If you have any difficulty getting a copy their website is http:/www.classic-car-mart.co.uk. Regards Paul |
