MG MG Y Type - MG Y Parts
Hey guys I am posting for my dad. He just bought a 1951 Mg Y and wanted to know is there are any good sites for parts like there is for your average mg's. Also. Who else in the usa has a mg Y? |

Welcome to the wonderful world of the MG Y. There are a surprising number of Ys over here in the US and the International MG Y Type Register will always be pleased to help. Drop me an email off line and I will be happy to assist with your questions. Paul |

We live in a small town, colonial beach, va. Honestly, we thought we were the only people with a Y. I am, by the way, the voice of the mechanic. So we is for me, and my dad. The car we have is in rough shape. There is a lot to do in order for her to be on the road. Right now I am just gathering information to see where everyone goes to get parts for this odd ball car. Thanks, Cara |

Thanks. Know Colonial Beach well. Use to stop over and spend the night there sometimes when my son was at Annapolis. He is now in Lynchburg, and I will probably be there this coming weekend. Good luck on the car. Larry |

Hi Cara, Welcome to Ys. As you have realized the Y is a bit more than your average MG as it is the rarest of post war models. Apart from the international site that Paul runs there is the MGCC Y Register site http://www.mgccyregister.co.uk where we have a shop that supplies some of the more obscure parts for Ys. The Octagon Car Club http://www.mgoctagoncarclub.com sell a wide range of parts at very reasonable prices but you may have problems with delivery to USA. For a more complete range of parts NTG http://www.mgbits.com/contents/en-uk/d128.html provides 99% but at a price. Best of luck with your Y, perhaps you would like to update the registration of your Y on our website http://www.mgccyregister.co.uk/registration. Peter |
